Negative Impact of Covid 19 (UAS BAHASA INGGRIS II GENAP 2021-2022)

    The covid 19 pandemic started in early 2020. It caused damage to not only health but also the economy. The world bank data shows that 60% of businesses worldwide faced bankruptcy. Which also lead to the firing of millions of employees based on the ILO Monitor in the year 2020. This is also determined by the government’s effort to stop the spread of the pandemic itself. Therefore, a lot of businesses have to adapt to the current situation and had to wait for the vaccine and the lockdown to be lifted by the government in order to get to a safer and a ‘new-normal’ environment.

    Based on the World Health Organization, since the beginning of the year 2020 until the 31st  of December, research was done to find out the death toll and its shown that at least 3 million people died due to the virus. The death rate didn’t stop there, as a matter of fact, it increased in the year 2021 as new variants of the virus such as omicron and delta mutated which led to the increase of death and this is also possible as some countries start to allow the ease of restrictions and a lift to their lockdown policy making it more vulnerable.

    Not only the economy and physical health, but also mental health were affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, it shows that because of the lack of interaction that people have a lot of them suffer from anxiety and distress, especially teenagers and kids as they are not able to go out of their homes to play with their friends or even physically go to school. This had devastating effects which were made possible by the unsafe environment supported by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    Covid 19 suddenly came and threaten people with death. Because of that, the government around the world are not prepared. It caused a lot of people to get panicked as it may threaten their life and their loved ones. But it turns out Covid 19 not only threaten many people’s lives, but also every single aspect of their life, such as social life, job, and even mental health.
